Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City-

Thirty seven (37) young De La Salle students who are Majors in AB Psychology experienced something new, apart from their normal curriculum. They took part in a one-day immersion with soldiers of the Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City last 24 August 2012.

Major Jo-Ar A Herrera, Philippine Army and Deputy of the Information Development Group, CRSAFP who had previously conducted lectures on the AFP Internal Peace and Security Program (IPSP) Bayanihan to De La Salle students, welcomed them at Headquarters, CRSAFP. And just as easily, they got acquainted and jelled with the soldiers.

The thrust of the visit is to expose the Sikolohiyang Pilipino (SIKOPIL) A51 class of DLSU for them to learn and adopt the concept of “BAYANIHAN” in the context and purview of the Armed Forces. Each student was paired with one (1) enlisted personnel or officer. Then, they engaged in storytelling or the “pakikipagkwentuhan”. The students spent their time with soldiers, listening to battle-field tales, exploits and the military way of life.
